I love the Thanksgiving holiday because it means multiple desserts. So many different options to choose from. But also includes all of the classics, like pumpkin pie and my ultimate favorite: cherry pie.
Burken and I have never hosted Thanksgiving before. But with a brand new babe at home, we thought it would be the perfect time to make everyone come visit us.
Many people may find hosting stressful, but I find it super enjoyable. I love cooking for others and seeing the enjoyment on their faces throughout the meal. I’ll be honest, I also love not having to travel anywhere for the holidays.
Maybe hosting feels less stressful for me because both sides of the families are really great about helping out. Bringing different dishes to contribute to the dinner table, and always there to help clean up or watch the babies.
Because of my love for holiday desserts, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my top 10 Thanksgiving desserts. Some are healthy, some are not, but either way, they will not disappoint being on your dinner table this year.
1. Healthy Pumpkin Pie Deluxe
Pumpkin pie is such a classic, but this pumpkin pie deluxe takes the traditional Thanksgiving dessert to a whole other level.
I re-created this recipe in a healthy way from a book of recipes of my grandma. And let me tell you, this recreation did not disappoint!
2. Healthy Pecan Pie Bars
If you’re looking for a less sugar-filled, yet just as tasty Thanksgiving dessert, then you need to try these healthy pecan pie bars.
I never really thought Burken was a fan of pecan pie, but these bars were flying off the counter. That’s when I know I’ve hit it on the head with a recipe.
All of your Thanksgiving guests will be coming back for more of these.
3. Healthy Cherry Cheesecake
As I mentioned earlier, cherry pie is one of my other favorite Thanksgiving desserts. This cherry cheesecake is like the best combination of pie and cheesecake all rolled into one.
The crust on this cheesecake is absolutely incredible and topped with homemade cherry pie filling. Trust me, it’s super easy and soo much better than the canned version.
4. Healthy Apple Crisp
If you’re not looking for a pie option and want more of a crisp or crumble, which is so perfect for fall, then this healthy apple crumble is for you.
It’s a gorgeous dessert to put on your Thanksgiving table. With soft apples and a healthy crumble, it’s perfect topped with a hefty dollop of cool whip. Or even a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream over the warm crumble.
5. Healthy Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
The topping on these pumpkin bars may look like a cream cheese frosting, but it’s actually cheesecake. These chewy pumpkin bars are perfectly sweet without using any refined sugar.
6. Bourbon Cranberry Bars
Omg, these bourbon cranberry bars are absolutely incredible! The cherry topping has a nice little amount of bourbon to balance out the sweetness of the bars.
But the cake-style bar is studded with white chocolate chips and is seriously one of my favorite Thanksgiving desserts.
If you’re having a smaller family gathering, it’s probably best to cut this recipe in half.
7. Healthy Apple Pie Cheesecake
These cute little mini apple pie cheesecakes would be perfect to line your whole Thanksgiving table as a centerpiece.
I just love all the fall spices that are incorporated into these little cheesecakes. You’ll love that they’re refined sugar free and have a perfect little cheesecake crust.
8. Cinnamon Roll Pumpkin Pie Monkey Bread
While monkey bread may seem more like a breakfast than dessert, I definitely think this cinnamon roll pumpkin pie monkey bread could easily don your Thanksgiving dessert table.
With a creamy pumpkin pie filling that surrounds chunks of cinnamon rolls, this is a super fast last minute Thanksgiving dessert.
9. Healthy Cherry Pie Cake
I must have a thing for making homemade cherry pie topping. This healthy cherry cake is no exception.
This one bowl dessert is made with just a few simple ingredients and is going to have your guests asking for another slice at the end of dinner.
10. Healthy Sweet Potato Cheesecake
This cheesecake is like the perfect combination of sweet potato pie and cheesecake all rolled into one.
It’s crustless, so it’s gluten free, making it the perfect Thanksgiving dessert for your newly gluten free niece or any other gluten free family members.
