Oh my gosh, talk about fresh, simple and delicious! Any time I think of this fruit salsa, my mouth starts to water. It’s chock full of fresh fruits that get blended with a tiny bit of natural brown sugar blend that helps to pull out the natural sweetness of all the fruits that are in this salsa. The green apple provides just the right amount of tartness to balance out the sweet from the strawberries and peach.
The first time I had this salsa was 5 or 6 years ago around Christmas time at my aunt’s house. Any time I’m looking to bring something bright, tasty and delicious to a dinner party, this has been a go-to. The fact that it takes less than 5 minutes to make also makes it my go-to because I can grab ingredients on the way home and throw it together right before the party. She made some cinnamon sugar tortilla chips that helped scoop up all the flavorful fruit salsa. If it’s possible to overdose on fresh fruit, this is the way to do it. The best part about this salsa is that it’s so customizable. If you’re not a fan of peaches, swap it out for some fresh mango. Prefer raspberries to strawberries? Swap the two! My only suggestion would be to keep the green apple in the recipe. It’s a bit tart when it comes to regular apples, but it really helps to balance out the sweetness of the other fruits.
Even though this may seem like a great summertime salsa to make, don’t be afraid to make it during any season. Sure produce might not be quite as great in the winter as compared to the summer, but because everything gets blended together you can mask produce that’s no longer at it’s peak.
Take this salsa as an appetizer to your next party and it’s likely you won’t come home with any. But if you by chance do return home with this cool, sweet salsa, stir it into some plain Greek yogurt the next morning and top with a crunchy granola for a feel good breakfast that you’re sure to repeat!
