I don’t think I’m quite ready to admit that May has already come to a close. This one has gone by just as fast as the others, but it has been jam packed with so much stuff!

All good and exciting things, but man, those happy things can take a toll on you every now and then.

So while I’m looking forward to this summer, and the upcoming weeks, it’s still a little sad to see this month go by the wayside so quickly.

Piece of Cake: New Journeys

New Job

Man, May was full of so many new journeys, I almost don’t know where to start.

I’ll first start with my job. Most of you know from the last piece of cake that I had accepted a new job. I honestly didn’t want to say too much about it at that point, because I hadn’t started yet.

Now that I’ve officially have a month’s worth of time at the new place, I feel like I can talk about it a bit more.

I started at a marketing firm called Filament here in Madison. After a long {loonnggg} search, I finally was hired at what I would consider to be my dream job.

They focus on the agriculture sector, but I’m working with clients on their social media and content development. All things that are right up my alley.

Bonus points that they all love my baking so far, and some of them have really been enjoying the blog as well.

IVF Update

If you read my super personal post earlier this month, you know that we had our egg retrieval with IVF.

I had some complications with the retrieval, after the fact, and actually got a bit sick. I had to go back to the doctor {on my second day of the new job!} and have 1.5 liters of fluid removed.

Needless to say, I felt 1,000 times better after that. I still took it slow on the workout front, and will continue to do so until we go through our transfer.

Because I worked out pretty much every day leading up to our second IUI, I feel that exercise will continue to be a huge part of my pregnancy {not pregnant yet…still waiting for transfer day}.

Of course, I will consult with my doctor before starting any workout regimen to make sure everything is safe for me and baby.

New Home

No, not a new home for us, but a new home for my parents.

This month my parents moved into their absolutely gorgeous condo. It honestly makes me a little jealous that they get to wake up and come out to this view every single morning.

In the middle of May we helped them move into their place and get things set up. That’s something I absolutely love doing, and my mom had a place for everything.

Literally had drawings of every single drawer and cabinet of where everything should go. I totally take after her in this regard, and know that whenever we move into our forever home, I will be doing the same.

It honestly just made the whole process so smooth and enjoyable.

I did get a bit emotional thinking about leaving the house I spent the majority of my childhood in. Not to mention the house Burken and I always went back to every time to visit.

Now we’ll just have a new normal, and a stunning view. Easy boat access is a super bonus too.

Piece of Cake: One Last Slice

What I’m Loving

  1. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens – this book is seriously incredible! It was the last book club book we read, and I finished it in two days. The story line was incredible, and it bounced back and forth between present day {for that time} and the main character’s past.

If you’re looking for a fast beach read, this one is totally for you. I will say the beginning was a tiny bit slow, but after that, I couldn’t stop reading.

2. Sgx Nyc The Do-It-All 3-in-1 Dry Texture Spray – this stuff is incredible! It’s a combination of dry shampoo and hair spray, making it the perfect spray to get that piece-y look and give your hair a bit more volume.

3. These tassel earrings – they come in a set of two, and they’re becoming my new go-to earrings. Every time I wear them I get so many compliments. Bonus that these come in a pack of two, and are stunning with a white tee, or dressed up for a night out.

What You’re Loving

  1. Gluten free rhubarb cheesecake bars are making it to the top spot this month. With no surprise really. These bars are so addicting, I had trouble not eating the whole pan before photographing them!

2. 3-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream is another hit right now. Which totally makes sense, because as we head into summer, it’s important to get your ice cream fix in, and what better way than with healthy nice-cream?

3. This one has actually been the long reigning champ, but the Six Best HIIT Workouts Under 20 Minutes is a really great one to check out as we head into summer.

And there you have it sweet treat lover! All the goodness of May wrapped into a nice little bow.

I’m suuupppeeerrr excited for what’s to come in June, including the two year anniversary of this blog! I hope you’ll continue following along!
